“…the self-conscious aim of Life is to find expression, and that Art offers it certain beautiful forms through which it may realise that energy.” Oscar Wilde (The Decay of Lying, 1889)
Upon exploring the notion of art in its historical expression, painting and in-particular portraiture, make up artist Min Sandhu sought to realise the life/art symposium by depicting the grand characteristics of antiquity and brush strokes in a fascinating editorial.
To capture the profound nature of art from the old world and its possessive energy, photographer Rhian Cox realised the subtlety in capturing artistic expressions. The beauty of art is its intrinsic interpretation of ones self, the perceived perception is wholly subjective to circumstance and standing.
